Last updated: June 2026. Mood Journal is a fully local app. We do not operate servers, do not collect personal data, and do not share anything with third parties.
Mood Journal collects no personal data. All journal entries, mood scores, activities, and notes you create are stored exclusively on your device in an encrypted local database. This data never leaves your device. We do not collect your name, email address, location, device identifiers, or any usage analytics.
Your journal database is encrypted using the Android Keystore system. You may optionally enable biometric app lock for additional protection. Export/import backups are initiated by you and stored wherever you choose — we have no access to them.
You can delete all your data at any time by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the app. No data is stored externally, so no further action on our part is required or possible.
Reminder notifications are processed entirely on-device using the Android notification system. No notification content or scheduling data is transmitted externally.
The app requests only the permission to post notifications. It needs this permission to send you reminders to log your mood. No location, camera, microphone, or contact access is requested.
We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or any third-party data processors. There are no third parties with access to your data.
Mood Journal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of the policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
This privacy policy is governed by the laws of Austria and the European Union, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As no personal data is collected or processed, no legal basis for data processing under Art. 6 GDPR is required.
